Manual ways for fixing this error:

Print Spooler cannot work without Remote Procedure Call, and if you got this error then it means that your system lost connection between print spooler service and RPC.

This usually can be fixed by very simple command typed after you Start > Run in Windows XP:

CMD /K SC CONFIG SPOOLER DEPEND= RPCSS

Alternative is typing in Command window: SC CONFIG SPOOLER DEPEND= RPCSS

Take a note that you need to be logged in as administrator in Windows Vista or 7.

Here is simple file that you just need to run (in Windows Vista or 7 right-click on it and choose “Run as administrator”). You can read more on Print spoller in Windows 7  or print spooler error 1068. You also can Download Error1068fix.bat

If you have a Lexmark printer there might be a different cause for this error. If you change an old printer and install another one, Lexmark service leaves its print spooler dependencies. When Print Spooler tries to access there are some old dependencies in registry and you get the error 1068. This situation will need manual registry key removal in:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Spooler

Look at the right tab on DependOnService string – if there is anything except “RPCSS” and “http” – remove these extras.

Attention:

If you use Lexmark printer, don’t remove this entry but instead use this instructions.

If you follow these instructions but the prob;em still remains, then visit support page of Security Stronghold  site for the assistance.  You can also download the company product Print Spooler Fix Wizard and find out how this product helps to correct print spooler error 1068 and also fix other print spooler errors for you.
